Web Design and Marketing Intern

The Summit Concert Band is seeking an organized, responsible, and detail-oriented intern to create a professional website and help with marketing our band and performances. The intern will gain valuable hands-on, real-world experience.

The web design and marketing intern will be responsible for creating and designing content for the band website and enhancing our marketing efforts. The ability to work independently, follow direction, take feedback, and meet strict deadlines are essential in this position.

COMPENSATION
Wage is $10 an hour.

REQUIREMENTS
•Demonstrated writing and graphic design ability
•Knowledge of marketing strategies and sales principles
•Understanding social media tools and functions
•Superior writing, grammar and editing skills, as well as strong oral communications skills
•Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
•Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, PowerPoint and other basis computer programs
•Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative
•Ability to excel in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and work independently
• Strong work ethic and commitment to detail
Activities
•Update website listings, information and photos when necessary
• Work closely with the band director, marketing coordinator, website manager, and board
• Attend performances and rehearsals for live engagement and performance reporting.
• Write web based feature content, including interviews with performers and attendees.
•Assist Development Manager with collection of event-related sponsorship data through photos, impression reports and attendance counts
•Attend meetings (could be via technology) to learn about current and future important topics of discussion
•Work with graphic designer to create engaging and attractive marketing materials
•Support concerts with marketing, signage and event preparation needs
•Work with event staff to create marketing plans and signage for events and promotions
• Additional communications, marketing, and event-related duties, as assigned.

Internship Specifics
•Current CSU student (junior level or above preferred)
•Must be available May 15 – August 15, 2017 (moderate flexibility)
•Hours per week negotiable
•Total of 50 hours for course credit
• Flexibility to work during regular office hours and evening/weekend events as needed
• Most work can be completed remotely. Requires some travel to Summit County to attend performances and collect data. Must provide own transportation

The Summit Concert Band is a community-based group focused on providing quality entertainment at events throughout Summit County and the central Colorado mountain region.
