Video Editing Intern

The Video Editor – Intern edits video footage and assists in the production of video and multimedia projects for Housing & Dining Services within the Division of Student Affairs at Colorado State University. Housing & Dining Services is the largest department at CSU and has a dynamic social media, web, and digital sign brand presence. This student position will support/report directly to the Assistant Director of Multimedia for Housing & Dining Services.

The successful candidate for this position possesses an aptitude and avid interest in digital video production with an emphasis on video editing. They should be self-motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in addition to a strong understanding of visual aesthetic and composition. They must also be able to translate the needs of the organization into high-quality video content in a timely fashion.


1. Edit high-quality digital video content
2. Deliver video content across multiple platforms including web, social, and digital signs
3. Produce and film videos for internal department audiences
4. Support the Assistant Director of Multimedia with the production of external-facing video and multimedia projects


1. Must be a full-time CSU, Front Range Community College, or University of Northern Colorado undergraduate or graduate student in good standing with their respective college/ university and/or a recent graduate looking for a paid internship experience

2. Demonstrated working knowledge of Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere

3. Demonstrated ability to create engaging video content

4. Positive attitude and strong work ethic with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and sustainability

5. Committed to learn and grow through the position

6. Display high level of professionalism through interactions with students, staff, and faculty

7. Flexibility, reliability, and dedication


1. Demonstrated experience with Adobe After Effects and/or Motion

2. Demonstrated experience with graphic design

3. Demonstrated experience creating video optimized for various social media platforms

4. Demonstrated experience with DSLR videography

5. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations

6. Demonstrated working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop


The start date for the Video Editor – Intern is February 2017 . The time commitment is 10 – 20 hours per week (negotiable).
