Technical Writing Internship

The Basics: The OtterBox Internship Program encourages a mutually beneficial environment where students gain practical skills through meaningful tasks learn about the inner-workings of our various business operations and OtterBox is strengthened by the skills and talent students bring to our teams. This will provide the intern with opportunities for growth and learning (and a pay check!), while being exposed to new and innovative ideas.

The Quality team analyzes issues and finds solutions that optimize our overall quality without compromising our time-to-market and customer satisfaction initiatives. They are looking for someone with strong communication and technical writing skills to write policies, procedures and test reports in order to maintain the highest quality standards for our products.

What You’ll Do (but not limited to):

· Pull and compile reports to analyze data

· Write policies and procedures for the Product Quality team

· Participate in continual improvement, corrective action, and customer satisfaction initiatives

· Assist the Product Quality team in maintaining their database

· Additional projects and responsibilities assigned as needed

What You’re Made of: Communication skills, decision quality, drive for results, organizing, problem solving and process management

What You Need (but not limited to):

· In progress or completion of BS communication or journalism

· Strong communication skills, oral and written

· Computer proficient with Microsoft, Excel and Word

· Ability to be the best steward of company resources and conducting oneself in a way that radiates integrity, honesty and trust

· Writing sample required

Dates and Duration:
OtterBox will bring on interns based on the school semesters: spring, summer, and fall.

A student will be limited to a total of twelve months at OtterBox as an intern. An intern’s contract will end after 90 days, at which point the manager will evaluate performance to determine if they are eligible for the next remainder of the program. Extension will be granted based on need and manager reviews of performance and OtterTude from the previous 90 Days.

Interns may be considered for full time positions in the same manner as any other applicant and must apply for an open position to be considered. Unfortunately we simply do not have positions available to enable us to keep every awesome intern that comes through OtterBox.

Students must be enrolled in an accredited university or college program at the undergraduate (preferably at the Junior level or higher) or graduate level or be recent college graduates (within 1 year) to be eligible to apply for OtterBox internships.
