Suicide Resource Center of Larimer County – RAPP

Position Description: (1) To present RAPP, a school based suicide prevention program, to junio and senior high school students in Larimer County (2) to work closely with the high school peer counselors (3) to refer those students who are indentified by their peers as being “at risk” to the school counselor (4) to follow up with the RAPP Coordinator after the presentation, and to return all program evaluations to the SRC.

Requirements: (1) excellent public speaking and communication skills (2) ability to work well with youth (3) personal experience with depression, bipolar disorder or suicide is preferred (4) ability to communicate the mission and vision of the Suicide Resource Center clearly and accurately (5) ability to deal with a crisis situation if necessary (6) reliable transportation (7) availability during school hours (7:30am – 3:30pm, M-F)

Commitment: (1) average minimum weekly commitment of between 5 and 10 hours. Hours vary week to week (2) must attend half day RAPP Training Workshop (3) a full school year commitment is preferred
