Student Administrative Communications Assistant

Essential functions
• Perform administrative support for CSUV staff and management.
• Coordinate and prepare general correspondence, reports and other documents.
• Provide reception and phone support, managing a multi-line telephone system, greeting and directing guests.
• Support staff in assigned project based work.
• Proactively maintain office supplies and equipment.
• Perform office errands as necessary and assist in projects and tasks as assigned.
• Help develop and implement marketing strategies for social media and website.
• Assist with writing and/or editing copy and updating website with fresh content.
• Assist with annual college award ceremonies and other special events.
• Assist with various communications and campus outreach tasks.

• One year office management or administrative experience in a professional, corporate or university environment with the desire to participate in the communications and social media goals of CSUV.
• Outstanding customer service performance.
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written, adapting use to a complex, fast-paced, multi- faceted environment.
• Experience with computers and software applications, MS Office preferred, with considerable internet experience and extensive use of MS Outlook for scheduling.
• Evidence of a high level of confidentiality, integrity and ethical behavior.

• Follows policies, procedures and operations of CSUV and CSU Research Foundation, using discretion, judgment, tack and poise.
• Effective, creative and harmonious interactions with coworkers.
• Executes directives quickly and proficiently with little or no supervision, assimilating new concepts and processes.
• Analyzes situations, set priorities and brings about timely, accurate solutions. Responsible for follow through of all projects, managing time and projects effectively.
• Assists in the promotion of CSUV, CSU and all activities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Team oriented and positive with a supportive work ethic, anticipating staff needs and planning accordingly.
• Driver’s license, reliable transportation and valid insurance coverage.

• Use of personal vehicle for travel; company pays standard mileage rate for work related activities.

• Manual dexterity to input data on keyboard, i.e. computer, calculator, telephone, FAX.
