Social Media and Web Marketing Intern

Position Overview
The Social Media and Web Marketing Intern will provide support to the CSU Alumni Association with new media/social media strategies as well as with content development and management for various segments of the Association’s webpage.

Job Functions
• Research social media tools that would be helpful for disseminating CSU Alumni news, information, and updates.
• Assist with the coordination and management of the CSU Alumni Association’s pages and groups on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and Flickr.
• Develop strategies to increase traffic to all social media outlets and increase “friends,” “followers,” “subscribers,” and “fans”.
• Monitor and edit CSU Alumni Association webpage as needed.
• Develop strategies to increase traffic on the CSU Alumni Association webpage.
• Manage and update pages on the website, including the “Alumni Spotlight,” “Registration,” and “Volunteer” pages.
• Interview alumni and write spotlight stories for the website
• Develop effective strategies and content for the CSU Alumni Association’s homepage.
• Assist with photography/editing projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

• The successful applicant will be a current CSU student, enrolled in 12 or more credit hours and will demonstrate the following characteristics:
o Demonstrate a strong interest in social media outlets and ability to build and maintain university profiles and pages on a variety of social media websites like Facebook.
o Willingness to perform as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and commitment to accuracy, collaboration and the highest quality results.
o Dedication to professional standards while maintaining a creative spirit and a sense of fun.
o Ability to work with minimal direction and produce quality results in an efficient manner.
o Demonstrate a strong aptitude for writing.
• Experience with social media sites and web knowledge is preferred.
