Description of Placement and Population Served: Our program is designed to foster the psychological, social, and educational potential of our youth, families, and personnel through researched-based programs. We offer a broad-based professional training experience within our residential, clinical, and educational settings. The population served by Reflections For Youth include youth ages 11-18 with a broad spectrum of common diagnosis: Substance Related Disorders / Bipolar and other mood disorders / Conduct Disorder / Oppositional Defiant / Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder / Post Traumatic Stress Disorder / Obsessive Compulsive Disorder / Anxiety Disorder / Reactive Attachment / Intermittent Explosive Disorder / Sexual offenders admitted on a case-by-case basis.

Interns will gain experience in non-profit business marketing, public relations, and fund development. Interns are considered developing professionals and are encouraged to work closely with senior staff members.

Responsibilities include:
• Assist with planning and implication of community events for the purpose of outreach and fundraising
• Direct involvement with development and design of advertising materials including: brochures, promotional video, newsletters, e-newsletters, facebook
• Assist with grant research, grant writing and evaluating outcome measurements

Skills Needed:
• Willingness to help with a variety of projects and tasks
• Well organized and self-motivated
• Willingness to collaborate with staff, community and volunteers
• Comfortable in diverse settings and diverse mental health diagnosis
• Prefer college juniors, seniors, or graduates

• Broad experience in a human service non-profit business
• Mission driven project administration as it relates to strategic planning
• Public relations experience
• Development and design of publications
• Office management skills
• Working with an organization that benefits youth and their transition to home, independent living, or lower level of care

Practicum/Internship Placement Hours: 3-4* days per week/some evenings and weekends
*A minimum of 12 hours per week is required; the specific schedule will be negotiated with the student. The vast majority of hours will be spread out during the daytime work-week, though occasional evening and weekend services may be required.
