Public relations/marketing/events planning intern

Position summary:
Northern Colorado’s premiere business publisher and business-to-business event organizer is seeking a public relations/marketing/event planning intern to assist with a wide range of activities, including:
- Creating marketing materials
- Updating websites
- Using multiple software programs including Microsoft programs to plan, organize and carry out events and publications.
- Communicating clearly with internal staff and public about upcoming events.
- Participating as part of an event planning team.
- Learning all phases of event planning.
- Working with vendors and sponsors in executing events.
- Tracking projects and assuring completion of assigned tasks.
- Participating in creation of social media strategies and carrying out those strategies.

The individual should be accurate in a fast-paced work environment, pay attention to detail, be able to work a flexible schedule around event timetables and bring social media skills to the table.

The ideal applicant will have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, own projects from beginning to end, able to accept editing and review of work, be organized, confident, willing to jump in unasked to help complete work, and be willing to learn.

Students in communications, marketing, public relations and other applicable studies would be most appropriate. This is an unpaid summer internship that could evolve into a longer term paid position depending on performance, student availability and company needs.
