Lynn Plage Communications, LLC, is looking for a public relations/digital marketing intern beginning this fall/winter. Located in metro Denver, LPC handles the publicity for elite and professional athletes across the United States and Canada, including many Olympians, as well as other sports-related entities (most notably Disson Skating, LLC, figure skating production company). We are looking for an intern who is passionate about sports and thrives in a quick-paced environment. Some of the tasks the intern will be expected to complete are writing, editing and distributing press releases; compiling fact sheets and athlete bios; brainstorming and pitching stories to media outlets; assisting in social media campaigns for clients (Facebook Pages, Twitter and blogging); other online marketing tasks. As an LPC intern, you may work from home but must be available via email and phone most days of the week–you must be able to hold yourself to deadlines. Many of LPC’s clients and projects are based out of the east coast, and some work on evenings and weekends can be expected. The number of working hours per week will vary.

Experience/qualifications (not all required but preferred):

  • Strong writing skills (including AP Style knowledge)
  • Experience with writing press releases and other promotional materials for the media
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Ability to communicate quickly and efficiently via email
  • Experience using social media for marketing purposes (Facebook Fan Pages, Twitter, blogs, etc.)
  • HTML/CSS and website management experience (including working in a CMS)
  • Proficient with Track Changes in Microsoft Word
  • Experience with photo editing and graphic design
  • Knowledge of figure skating, gymnastics, fencing (among other sports) is a plus
