Public Relations Intern

The Office of Public Relations is seeking two hard-working journalism students who are eager to learn all aspects of Public Relations and work for a minimum of 10 hours a week in a small, award-winning PR office.

Strong news and feature writing skills are preferred for these positions. Strong candidates have a good working knowledge of Associated Press style, an understanding of news value and a basic understanding of technology. These internships will provide an opportunity to work with the media and may also involve research, interviewing sources, writing for external and internal audiences, media list building and media tracking. Experienced gained also will include writing news releases, media tip sheets and student/faculty profiles as well as pitching media.

Candidate with a interest in science writing are preferred. The ideal candidates are self-starters, motivated and responsible.
