Program Assistant–Marketing and Communications

The Marketing and Communications Program Assistant position assists the CSU Health Network Marketing and Communications Coordinator in the coordination and production of marketing and communications materials for the CSU Health Network.

Major Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator and the Director of Health Education and Prevention Services, the Program Assistant will:

–Support the marketing and communications coordinator with producing messaging and media for the web, public relations, marketing and special events;
–Assist with the planning and development of general marketing and public relations for the CSU Health Network;
–Represent the CSU Health Network at campus resource fairs and special events;
–Help ensure materials are consistent with CSU Health Network and CSU brand identities;
–Support writing of health information pieces by working with medical professionals;
–Communicate weekly with supervisor about project(s) status.

Graphic Design
–Create design concepts;
–Prepare files for preflight and print processes;
–Help coordinate printing and distribution of marketing and communications materials.

Web Support
–Review the CSU Health Network website for outdated information, defective links and web issues per current SOP;
–Perform web updates through content management system (will train).

Perform other duties as assigned by the Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

Position Qualifications:
–Experience writing copy for print and web
–Experience with print layout design and production
–Strong expressive communications skills
–Proficient computer skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

–Work experience indicating attention to detail and follow through
–Skills in graphic illustration
–Demonstrated experience managing projects independently
–Interest in health care marketing and public health communications

15-20 hours/week at $9.50 per hour

Starting Date:
Anticipated starting date is March 4, 2013 or sooner. Position needed throughout the summer and likely through Fall semester 2013.
