PR & Social Media Intern

Posted on September 5th, 2011

Spuzzle, Inc., is an iPhone app development company in Denver and we’re looking for a motivated student to assist in our PR, social media and launch communication efforts.  We currently have two available apps for sale in the App Store – Ask Social Questions and iBelly Workout.   The new app that we will be launching is a new social gaming app that will go head-to-head with the popular word game Word with Friends.
This will be great opportunity for a CSU student to get valuable experience with the exciting app and internet marketing world.  The company is a small start-up between me (a CSU alum from the Journalism & Technical Communication department) and an app developer.

Responsibilities of the PR & Social Media Intern will include:

  • App submissions online
  • Online press release submissions and other communication efforts
  • Social media efforts including app Facebook creation and maintenance
  • Twitter communication and monitoring
  • Assist with PR strategy, plans and implementation
  • Content development for communication efforts online
  • Bookmarking and other social media and word-of-mouth marketing efforts
  • Some online advertising including SEM, PPC support
  • Assist with app promotional Web site
  • Conduct research of other online places to promote the app

As a former CSU student who had many internships, I personally know how important it is to get real-world experience.  The selected intern will learn a ton about communications for the mobile industry, which has to be one of the most relevant and popular things happening today.   Because we’re a small company, the intern will have a big impact and will get many portfolio pieces to help them with their career endeavors.

Qualifications

  • Since we’re launching an iPhone app, it would be necessary for the intern to have access to an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad
  • Someone who has an interest in new media, technology, mobile or internet marketing
  • Someone who is comfortable writing press release briefs and app submissions
  • Someone who is dedicated and has time to give attention to this app launch

Once the intern is selected, the name of the new social gaming app and how it works will be provided. The tentative launch date for the new app is 9/28/11.
