PR / Communications Intern

We are a #fintech (financial technology) startup in Ft. Collins. The app we promote is doing well in the local area with CSU students and we are ramping up this summer to go national. You can search BillHero App in the app stores (Apple IOS and Google Play) or online to learn more about us. We are in need of an ONSITE communications intern for the summer (part-time to full-time w/flexible hours) – we CANNOT accommodate remote working arrangements for this position.

What you will be doing:

1. Research on competitors & the app space; culling industry data and providing written analysis
2. Social Media account maintenance and strategy help: Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.
3. Looking up site & app performance information and populating the data into spreadsheets for messaging comparison and analysis
4. Building spreadsheets, powerpoint slides, dossiers to communicate PR and company narrative ideas
5. Writing copy/proofreading releases, posts, mats for the wires
6. Downloading and reviewing apps that compliment our offering as well as QA’ing our app’s releases on different devices

Skills needed:

Intermediate to Advanced Presentations (either MS PowerPoint of Google Slides)
Intermediate to Advanced Spreadsheets (MS Excel or Google Sheets)
Excellent English writing & speaking skills
Strong Math calculation skills using spreadsheets
Smartphone User – Apple or Android
Online / Social Media / Video savvy

Education:

We are looking for current college students majoring in Communications, Marketing, or Writing (English or Journalism)

Local candidates only. You will need access to transportation to be able to meet in our Ft. Collins offices on Harmony Rd or at a shared work environment space downtown Ft. Collins (Galvanize shared work space in Old Town). You will need to be able to download our app to your smartphone so only current smartphone owners (no data costs – wifi will be used). This is a paid hourly summer position. $12.00 / hr and reports to the Chief Marketing Officer. The office dress code is business casual. While the right candidate will be a self-starter: real world training and mentoring will be provided for tasks requested and as needed by the student.

The company is expanding rapidly and the right intern(s) will be positioned to transition to a full-time professional role at the conclusion of the semester.
