Organization Overview:
Outreach United Resource Center, Inc. (OUR Center) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Longmont, Colorado, that helps those in need throughout the St. Vrain region work toward self-sufficiency by unifying community resources. Founded in 1986 the OUR Center provides vital services, including a food pantry, daily hot meals, a clothing bank, a day shelter, a warming center, and homelessness prevention programs in an effort to help those in need throughout the region. The OUR Center also operates the Aspen Center for Child Development, which offers excellent childcare and school readiness programs to children from six weeks to six years old.

Job Description:
The OUR Center is seeking an upper-level undergraduate or graduate student to intern in our communications department. The position will report to the communications director and will have the opportunity to support the development director and/or other departments as appropriate. The selected candidate will work in areas of public relations, media relations, marketing communications, social media, and development.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting research
- Writing (press releases, newsletter articles, marketing pieces, etc.)
- Social media programs
- Web site updates
- Graphic design
- Special event support
- Media relations
- Community outreach
- Data entry
- Clerical support

Interested candidates must meet the following qualifications:
*Be an upper-level undergraduate or graduate-level student at an accredited college or university with education and experience in communications, public relations, marketing, and social media. Graphic design skills a plus.
*Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
*Solid organizational skills, as well as resourcefulness, flexibility, and attention to detail.
*Ability to self-motivate, manage time, set priorities, balance multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
* Interest in non-profit marketing and communications and in learning about and supporting the OUR Center’s mission in the community.
*Able to commit to10-12 hours per week or more beginning as soon as possible and throughout the fall semester 2011 (hours can be adjusted to align with schedule or academic credit requirements).
