The Denver Post is seeking a part-time intern for the 2017 fall semester. The internship is a three-days-per-week, 10-week paid position. Past interns have worked as editors, producers and videographers. An ideal candidate will be able to shoot and edit videos on deadline, work in studio and generate story ideas. Though interns on the video staff have primarily been shooters, candidates whose skill set is more focused on animation, editing or other aspects of video production are strongly encouraged to apply. We are seeking to propel our department forward and welcome any and all visual journalists who wish to submit a portfolio.
The Denver Post is Colorado’s largest daily news publication with a far-reaching and ever-growing digital audience. The video department was recently nominated for nine and awarded three regional Emmy awards, including the prestigious community service Emmy for a series focused on death and injuries related to oil industry jobs. In addition, the Post won a national Edward R. Murrow award for a short documentary about an at-risk high school’s football team and their quest to win a conference championship.
The video department at the Post has won numerous other Emmys, Murrows and is regularly recognized by the NPPA’s best of photojournalism and Pictures of the Year International.
DEADLINE: August 1, 2017.
