Marketing & Social Media Intern

The marketing & social media intern at the Food Bank for Larimer County will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence. The intern will use social and digital media to successfully promote Food Bank events and fundraising campaign. The position will also assist with gathering stories and testimonials from Food Bank stakeholders to effectively illustrate the work of the organization.

Responsibilities include the following:

Social Media
• Monitor and engage on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn
• Expand presence on Twitter and LinkedIn
• Create and maintain Instagram presence
• Follow appropriate people on Twitter
• Keep up with social media trends and make recommendations to increase exposure and success
• Other duties as assigned

Event Marketing
• Contribute to planning of event marketing campaign strategy
• Create event invitations using Constant Contact
• Develop social media schedule, including post contents to promote event
• Monitor and engage on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn
• Other duties as assigned

Story Banking
• Proactively seek out stories from the field (agencies, Food Bank programs, etc.), perform interviews and write articles for the Food Bank blog and newsletters
• Secure video/audio/story release agreement forms
• Assist with video editing
• Manage video stories on YouTube Channel
• Share videos or stories via appropriate channels

Qualifications:
• Familiar with social media, particularly Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
• Effective and professional communicator
• Friendly and conversational
• GPA at least 3.5
• Must be detail oriented, team player and technologically savvy
• Fast Learner
• Responsible and dependable
• Interviewing and video editing experience a plus.

Benefits:
• This is an unpaid part-time internship for a great cause!
• Estimated weekly hours are 10-15 hours per week (schedule is flexible, but time should be scheduled between Monday and Thursday, 8 am – 2pm for a minimum of 90 minutes)
• Possibility of working remotely once familiar with our organization
• Ideal candidate will be available for the remainder of the school year
