Hours Per Week: 4-15 (dependent upon course credit requirements)
Internship Length: 1 Semester, with the opportunity to return based on performance

Position Summary
The Marketing & Social Media Intern will gain hands-on experience managing and analyzing the professional social media channels for the University Center for the Arts (UCA). This individual will work directly with the UCA Marketing and Publicity Assistant on a semester-long project to closely analyze and manage various social platforms, while expanding their knowledge of and experimenting with various social media concepts. This position allows students to expand their professional portfolio while working in a vibrant, creative atmosphere.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Marketing and Publicity Assistant in development of semester-long social media project, strategy, and goals.
• Manage the department’s presence in various social media environments, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat using the Hootsuite Social interface.
• Closely track and analyze short-term and long-term social media statistical data reports.
• Research and pitch trending ideas to Marketing and Publicity Assistant for implementation.
• Attend performances and rehearsals for live engagement and performance reporting.
• Write social media feature content, including interviews with faculty and students.
• Assist with on-campus marketing efforts and events.
• Uphold college and university branding and communications guidelines.
• Additional communications, marketing, and event-related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
• Current CSU student, available Fall 2016
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High familiarity with multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat
• Ability to excel in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and work independently
• Flexibility to work during regular office hours and evening events as needed
• Strong work ethic and commitment to detail
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
