Marketing and Communications Intern

Do you love to write? Are you a journalism student or an English major? Are you curious about the people and organizations that are a part of your community? If you answered yes, you might be our next Marketing and Communications intern at United Way of Larimer County. During this internship, you will work closely with our Digital Marketing Manager. This internship will give you hands-on experience writing blogs and e-newsletters for a large audience. You will walk away with writing samples and valuable marketing and social media experience for your portfolio and LinkedIn.

About the internship:
United Way is hiring an intern to help expand our brand and communicate our impact to the community. This role will have an emphasis on marketing for our Generation United affinity group, while also working to promote our other programs and partnerships.

Some of the tasks you may perform include:
- Doing research for, and then writing blog posts and newsletter articles
- Compiling and sending e-newsletters, tracking open rates, creating email subject lines to increase engagement.
- Event planning, marketing, and support
- Attend UWLC’s events, network with participants, and create follow up engagement campaigns.

Some of the skills and opportunities you may gain:
- Work independently with the freedom to be creative
- Practice and improve journalistic writing skills
- Improve clerical and administrative skills
- Learn to work with a database and email marketing tools
- Gain experience in a fast growing non-profit business
- Add experience with a non-profit leader in health and human services to your resume
- Fall semester
- Hours are flexible
- Credit or non-credit (if doing for credit follow your student internship packet guidelines and policies)
- Position is contingent upon successful background check.
- Must have own reliable transportation, valid Driver’s License, and proof of insurance.
- Stipend available upon completion of internship.
