International Programs Student Coordinator

Job Description:
The Student Coordinator position provides support to the Programming Team of International Student and Scholar Services. The programming team brainstorms, plans and executes the upcoming year’s programming goals (large-scale annual programs, smaller weekly programs, as well as a range of one-time activities and events; covering social, academic and professional topics).

We are looking for a Student Coordinator to work primarily on graphic design, marketing and PR, the ISSS programming website, designing flyers, and writing newsletters. Other duties may include creating and managing event sign-up forms, helping with ISSS events, developing ideas for events, developing activities for intercultural trainings, reserving rooms, food and equipment, attending committee meetings, and other programming duties as needed.


  • Work-study award for 2016-2017 academic year (international students may be eligible for a merit work study award)
  • Detail oriented with superb written communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and follow through on projects
  • Sensitivity to and acceptance of personal and cultural differences in people and ability to relate well with people of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with online platforms such as Mailchimp, Google Forms, WordPress, and others is preferred
  • Must be able to work at least 10 hours a week
  • Must be able to work frequent evening and weekend hours, especially during Orientation and World Unity Fair
  • Valid US Driver’s license preferred
