Intern with Clerk or Courts and the DUI Court

Requirements: For this internship you will be required to submit to a background check and paperwork before working with the Colorado Judicial department. This internship is 200 hours, and our operating hours are Monday-Friday 7:30a-4:30p. We recognize that you are student with many commitments and are flexible in letting you pick the days that you can come in. However, the expectation is that you will set up your own work schedule and adhere to it with at least 10-15 hours per week. You are also expected to be on time and maintain good attendance to your work schedule. You will be required to adhere to judicial department policies and requirements. You should dress in business casual attire ,and jeans are only allowed on Fridays (no holes or rips in jeans).

Experience: No experience is required. We are looking for are people that have attention to detail, ability to work on lenthy projects, a willingness to learn, and a great attitude.

Educational experience gained: You will gain experience with the Colorado Judicial Branch through working with the Clerk of Court and DUI Court. Duties can include but are not limited to: working with court files, viewing court proceedings, making copies, filing, sorting mail, staff meetings, and the option to attend monthly staff trainings. You will have hands on experience putting together a docket, working with court paperwork, and an understanding of case management for offenders in the DUI program. This position will give you the opportunity to see how the court system, corrections, and mental health work together.
