Housing & Dining Services Social Media Intern

The social media intern plays an active role in engaging residence hall students through online social media and on-­‐campus informational events. The intern will be responsible for creating content for and administering a range of Housing & Dining Services social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Vine. The intern will also have the opportunity to represent HDS at various events and assist with photography and video production. Creativity, excellent writing skills, and a sense of humor are vital to this position.

Responsibilities Include:
• Manage CSU Halls social media accounts
• Develop written, photographic, and multimedia content
• Take photos and/or video at residence hall and dining center events
• Assist the HDS Communications Office with research for campaigns/initiatives
• Stay up-­‐to-­‐date on social media technology and trends
• Maintain a positive and welcoming image of HDS through online media
• Attend weekly staff meeting/collaborate with other Communications Office interns
• Assist with miscellaneous tasks and events as necessary

• Current undergraduate student at CSU
• Excellent writing/grammar/communication skills
• Ability to write in a range of styles for varying target demographics
• Comprehensive knowledge across a variety of social media platforms
• Comfortable in social situations including hall activities and campus events

Preferred Qualifications:
• Photography and video skills
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
• Undergraduate student with knowledge of Housing & Dining Services

Candidates must be available to work the 2015/2016 academic year. It is preferable that candidates are able to begin the internship during the summer months. The position requires an average of 8 hours per week in the office and pays $9/hour.
