Events Coordinator Intern

The Alumni Association, Alumni Relations Department, is seeking an Events Coordinator Intern. The
intern will be able to volunteer up to 15 hours a week (flexible schedule). This is a non‐paid
internship.

The CSU Alumni Association advances the university by developing and strengthening lifelong relationships between the alumni and the university community, by benefiting current and future alumni and friends, and by serving as a catalyst for communications and involvement. To help us successfully carry out this mission, we are looking for a creative, responsible student to join our special
events team.

Internship includes:
- Event planning/coordinating events that may include but are not limited to athletic events,family friendly events, young alumni events, professional development events, community service events, special events, homecoming, reunions, and university‐wide events.
- Learning all phases of planning a special event ‐ from coordinating invitations and registrations
to working with the venue on event details and staffing an event.
- Working with a variety of vendors to produce an event.
- Developing the ability to schedule and track a variety of projects.
- Coordinating timelines.
- Developing the skills to work in a team environment.
- Working with volunteers through the Colorado Ram Networks located in Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Grand Junction and Boulder County.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
The Events Coordinator Intern is a dynamic position requiring a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and
attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for Colorado State University.
- Good communications skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with MS Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook

Industry experience: 0‐2+ years’ event coordination experience including:
- Developing marketing/promotional materials, campaigns
- Working with customers
- Developing and executing projects
- Flair for innovative event strategies

Skills include: communication, teamwork, leadership, ability to work autonomously, tolerance of ambiguity, ability to influence and persuade, decision‐making/problem solving, flexibility, creativity,initiative, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
