Event Intern

Position Overview:
The Event Interns will work in direct support of the CSU Events staff. Interns will assist the Events team with all stages of the planning and implementation of a variety of campus events, as well as work directly with the event lead on one key event per semester.

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the CSU Events & Constituent Engagement staff, under the direction of the Associate Director.
• Maintain set weekly office hours (to be determined based on schedule).
• Assist the CSU Events staff with planning and implementation of events, including contacting vendors, coordinating event logistics, and execution of event.
• Work directly with the event lead on one key event per semester.
• Provide day-of support and staffing for assigned events.
• Assist with maintaining event timelines, checklists, and budgets.
• Ensure adherence to University and departmental policies.
• Assist with post-event follow-up and evaluation.
• Research trends in the event industry and best practices for event coordination.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Current CSU student, available Spring or Summer 2011
• Willingness and ability to work with a team
• Strong work ethic and commitment to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Creativity
• Sense of humor
• Preferred work commitment of two semesters or more (one-semester internships will be considered)
• Event planning experience a plus
