Are you interested in health, nutrition, and a career in media? New Hope Natural Media is a Boulder, Colorado-based natural business and consumer media company that publishes Natural Foods Merchandiser, Functional Ingredients, Nutrition Business Journal and Delicious Living magazines. Description: This updated internship program combines web and print responsibilities to create an internship indicative of publishing’s multifaceted nature. Interns will perform a variety of digital and print tasks.

Editorial duties include fact checking articles, transcribing interviews, creating/maintaining editorial archives and databases, mailing monthly comp issues, writing news pieces and other sections of the magazine, researching stories, interviewing sources, proofing content, helping section editors with photo research, and responding to queries.

Digital duties include uploading content—focusing on web-friendly, SEO-rich formatting; building galleries and web-exclusive content bundles; updating old content; tagging articles; working on social media efforts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn); developing some online content; helping coordinate natural products giveaways; proofreading the site regularly.

When: January-May 2012.

Hours: 15 + hours per week

Payment: Unpaid

Qualifications: Must be an organized and detail-oriented self-starter who can meet deadlines. Must have very strong digital skills and be confident in researching and writing. Graduate or undergraduate students in the media field will be given preference. Knowledge of the natural products industry (or willingness to learn) is a bonus.
