EcoCAR 3 Communications Manager

The US Department of Energy and Colorado State University College of Engineering are seeking a paid CLA intern to lead the marketing, communications and outreach program for the CSU EcoCAR 3 program. EcoCAR 3 is the latest U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition (AVTC) series. As North America’s premier collegiate automotive engineering competition, EcoCAR 3 is challenging 16 North American university teams to redesign a Chevrolet Camaro to reduce its environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and performance expected from this iconic American car. Sponsored by DOE and General Motors and managed by Argonne National Laboratory, EcoCAR is the heart of American automotive ingenuity and innovation and is the ultimate training ground for minting future automotive leaders. Duties for this position will include:
• Communications and Outreach Planning and Documentation
• Strategic planning and coordination with US Department of Energy Comm Professionals
• Social media management with a variety of On-campus and Off-campus audiences
• Team management and coordination with Engineering, Management and Industrial team members
• Event planning and event execution to perform outreach to K-12 education and industry
• Blogging / creative writing
• Video production
• Media Relations with local and national media
• Presentations to industry and communications professionals to represent CSU and US DOE
• Travel to workshops across the US to attend training, professional education and networking events.

This paid position would allow for students to perform classwork and perform this internship simultaneously. The position asks for commitment to both Fall and Spring semesters of the 2016-2017 Academic Year.
