Direct Service Intern

SERVE 6.8 is a Fort Collins non-profit dedicated to serving those experiencing disaster every day, whether it is a personal or natural disaster. Our initiatives include: the Sister Mary Alice Murphy Center for Hope (Murphy Center), Disaster Response, Community Impact, and the Resource Center. The Murphy Center is a one-stop resource shop for the homeless/near homeless. Community Impact connects volunteers to community projects for low income individuals/families. The Resource Center provides services to low-income families and individuals. SERVE 6.8 also operates the financial assistance program for Timberline Church.

Direct Service Interns can expect to
• provide client referrals
• work with clients seeking financial assistance
• coordinate volunteer projects
• conduct project assessments
• assist with data tracking

Direct Service Interns placed at the Murphy Center can expect to
• provide support to the front desk staff
• conduct intake assessments
• shadow with Resource Specialists
• assist in the gear room/laundry/shower services
• assist with entering guest data

Internships are available for the Summer 2015 and Fall 2015 semesters.
