Unit Overview

The College of Liberal Arts development team is a part of the Dean’s office, and is overseen by the Director of Development. The development office coordinates College fundraising and supports departmental fundraising initiatives. The development team also works in close cooperation with University Advancement/Development and the Colorado State University Foundation.

The Development Assistant serves an important role for the College, reporting to the Development Coordinator. The Development Assistant assists in meeting College goals by anticipating needs and helping ensure fluid office operations.

Required Qualifications

Integrity and tact, with a proactive orientation
Commitment to confidentiality
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and quality in work produced
Outstanding computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM databases)
Ability to work irregular hours for College events periodically throughout the semester

Preferred Qualifications

Merit or need-based work-study award recipients
Pursuing a degree in Journalism and Media Communications or Communication Studies
Interest in remaining in this position through May of 2016
Work experience within the Liberal Arts and/or higher education
Reliable transportation

Duties / Responsibilities

Assist with gift processing paperwork for the College
Create and mail weekly acknowledgement letters to donors on behalf of the College
Create CLA and Departmental information packets, and update College binders
Assist Development Coordinator with mailings to donors and alumni
Process receipts and travel related documents for CLA Development Team
Update information on CLA’s development website
Attend periodic events, interacting with donors and friends
Support advance coding for events and program affiliations
Duties as assigned by Development Assistant
