CSU public relations intern

Posted on December 19th, 2015

CSU Public Relations interns help us tell the university’s branded stories via a variety of communications channels, and they gain an overarching understanding of the Division of External Relations. Interns will gain skills in interviewing, writing, editing and design for press releases, SOURCE articles and media advisories, telling stories through text, video, photos, infographics and social media. Other possible duties include collaborating with the social media team, maintaining media lists and assisting with campus tours and special events. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student for the duration of the internship. Required qualifications include effective communication skills, creativity, willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced dynamic environment, ability to problem-solve under stressful conditions, and adherence to required time commitments as well as professional dress, etiquette, and conduct codes.

Application Process:

A current résumé listing campus involvement, leadership roles, service to the community, and work experience should be included with the application along with a cover letter and three writing samples to Jeff Dodge at Jeff.Dodge@colostate.edu. Examples of writing samples include a press release, campaign/communications plan, a blog entry, web story, feature story, or hard news story from a past internship, student organization, or class assignment.
