CSU Office of Public Relations interns

The CSU Office of Public Relations is accepting applications for fall 2017 interns. Our interns help us tell the university’s stories via a variety of communications channels, and they gain an understanding of the Division of External Relations. Interns will gain skills in interviewing, writing, editing and design for press releases, SOURCE articles and media advisories, telling stories through text, video, photos, infographics and social media. They also assist with the PR office’s social media accounts and monitoring/compiling metrics and analytics. Other possible duties include collaborating with the social media team, maintaining media lists and assisting with special events. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student for the duration of the internship. Required qualifications include effective communication skills, creativity, willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment, ability to problem-solve under stressful conditions, and adherence to required time commitments as well as professional dress, etiquette and conduct codes. Preferred qualifications include experience and interest in social media and analytics as well as proficiency with WordPress and presentation software.

A current résumé listing campus involvement, leadership roles, service to the community, education and work experience should sent with a cover letter and three writing samples to Jeff Dodge at Jeff.Dodge@colostate.edu by Aug. 7. Examples of writing samples include a press release, campaign/communications plan, a blog entry, web story, feature story or hard news story. Samples can be from a past internship, student organization or class assignment.
