CSU marketing intern

Position Overview:
This paid internship position is responsible for coordinating elements of various marketing and promotional initiatives related to our membership and revenue programs. Position will offer an opportunity to make professional connections and gain marketing experience, skills, and portfolio samples. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing.


• Assist with marketing and promotional efforts
o Prepare mail files
o Assemble giveaways and tabling supplies
o Distribute marketing materials
o Research and analysis
o Maintain data spreadsheets
• Contribute to the development and execution of membership and retention communication pieces
• Occasional evening and weekend participation at key membership events/programs including:
o Homecoming & Family Weekend
o Grad Pack pick up/distribution
o Tailgates, Ram Town, and other CSUAA events as available
• Research, analytics, and some reporting as it relates to peer comparison and return on investment
• Facilitate a positive experience for all constituents via phone, e-mail, mailings, and face-to-face communication.
• Exercise initiative, sound judgment, creativity and discretion in performing work assigned, anticipating and addressing concerns, responding to requests for information, and organizing and maintaining confidential files and records.
• Occasionally staff the front desk, which includes greeting and assisting guests, answering the phone, and responding to inquiries.
• Other marketing and promotional duties as assigned


• Current CSU student
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Some experience in working on marketing/promotional materials, campaigns
• Good customer service skills
• Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends

Time commitment
Minimum of 10 hours/week
Prefer commitment of two semesters
Occasional night and weekend hours
Interns are eligible for course credit
