Corporate Communications Intern

Assists with worldwide website research, administration, and reporting; marketing collateral and other communications content development; and promotional campaign activity support. This position requires some self-directed project management as well as a variety of technical and office administrative duties under general supervision.

This position is responsible for the completion of the following projects:

1. CMS Administration and HTML Programming
a. Check outgoing and incoming links on six international websites; set up redirects as necessary
b. Audit contact e-mails and user lists; test and update user registration content
c. Edit HTML code
d. Provide support in the second phase of the company’s website implementation

2. Social Media, SEO, and Web Analytics
a. Contribute to content development and execution of the company’s social media initiative; participate in planning the summer/fall editorial calendar, make posts, and track the summer’s social media campaigns
b. Research the latest search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and assist in implementing SEO improvement efforts worldwide
c. Review the website’s key performance indicator (KPI) metrics before and after the company’s brand enhancement project, prepare internal reports using WebTrends data, and make recommendations based on analytics

3. Tradeshow Content/Campaign Development
a. Assist in executing two separate marketing/PR campaigns aimed at increasing sales leads at trade shows and conferences and generating traffic online
b. Assist in the preparation of promotional copy and web landing pages—for multiple audiences and channels—following corporate brand standards and departmental processes

Marketing Communications projects can be adapted to the selected candidate’s specific interests and qualifications.

Works in a standard office environment. Tools may include AE-proprietary web CMS, WebTrends, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint, and

• Experience with websites and basic understanding of Web 2.0 technologies
• Familiarity with marketing communications concepts

• Working knowledge of HTML

• Some experience writing for publication

Currently enrolled student prepared to take internship credits

Emphasis in Journalism & Technical Communication or related field of study
