Communications Intern – International Programs

The Communications Intern is a part-time position that assists the CSU Office of International Programs Communications Manager with print and web communications, social media, and other promotional outreach efforts. This position plays an integral role in engaging CSU students, faculty and staff in international activities at Colorado State University.

Under the supervision of the Communications Manager, the Communications Intern will:
• Promote events through web, social media and print outlets
• Write stories, profiles, press releases and news items
• Maintain and update website news section and calendar listings
• Assist in planning and promotion of special events
• Assist with miscellaneous tasks and events as necessary

Required Qualifications:
• Junior, senior or graduate student at CSU
• Excellent writing/grammar/communication skills
• Ability to write in a range of styles for varying target demographics
• Knowledge of social media platforms and strategies
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Must be available to work during fall semester 2017, with the option to extend through spring semester
• Must have an existing work study award, or be able to request and receive a non-need work study award through RamWeb before the start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with basic principles of photography/design/branding
• Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and WordPress
• International experience

Start date:
• On or before July 31, to allow for training before start of fall semester

• Flexible schedule, 10 – 20 hours a week

• $10/hour to start
• Eligible for up to 3 JTC 487/687 internship credits
