Communications intern

Posted on March 9th, 2016

We are a women-owned, Cheyenne, Wyo.-based tech company looking for a communications intern interested in helping a growing startup accelerate its social media and web presence.

The Language I/O elevator pitch is that we’re a software company that helps businesses with translation services. When a customer writes to Company X in Mandarin for help with Problem Y, we allow the English or Japanese-speaking customer service agent to understand and respond to the email. We are rapidly growing and need to get our social media house in order.

We’re looking for someone who is first and foremost, a detail-oriented self-starter. The ability to write for social media and other platforms — press releases, blog content — is a must. The winning candidate will have a strong grasp of social media and will quickly accelerate our engagement across social media platforms, specifically Twitter and LinkedIn.

The intern will work closely with the social media director, who is a former journalist, author, magazine writer and CSU alumna. She has started two digital publications, written books for multiple CEOs, co-founded two non-profits, and managed communications for a quasi-governmental agency in England. She’s worked with several interns and loves helping communications graduates understand the many opportunities open to them post-graduation.

While the position is unpaid, we are open to mobile working. We’re also happy to spring for a few coffees at our coffee shop workspaces. The Alley Cat and Mugs are two favorites. The social media director lives in Fort Collins near campus so the position will include face-to-face interactions.
