Communications Intern

The communications intern will provide support to internal and external communications activities. This position plays an active role in the execution of the organization’s overall communication plan.

Essential Functions:

•Researches and writes articles for internal newsletter.
•Reviews website content to ensure accuracy and currency.
•Creates original web content.
•Helps shape the organization’s social media plan and tactics.
•Organizes, manages and contributes to photography database.
•Proofreads critical documents for internal and external publication.
•Maintains regular & reliable attendance.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing, public relations, or related field
•Proven experience in building relationships internally and externally
•Positive, enthusiastic, flexible, creative and willing to learn
•Self-starter, highly organized
•Professional demeanor and presentation of self
•Ability to organize and manage several priorities simultaneously while working under pressure and deadlines
•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
•Current valid driver’s license and ability to remain insurable under Platte River’s vehicle liability policy

Desired Qualifications:

•Experience volunteering or working in a corporate environment in internal or external communications highly preferred
