Communications and Social Media Internship

A little about us: The Office of CSU Events & Donor Relations oversees and implements over 300 events a year including the President’s Fall Address and University Picnic, Homecoming & Family Weekend, the 1870 Dinner, Ram Good Time Auction, and the President’s Community Lecture Series.

The position: The Communications and Social Media Intern will work closely with the Assistant Director for Event Communications to develop event communications and marketing plans. This includes managing the department’s social media presence (Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest) and updating content for the CSU Events & Donor Relations website.

Other responsibilities include:

· Serving as a secondary liaison to the University’s Social Media Committee
· Writing stories for SOURCE and additional campus media outlets
· Assisting in development of event invitations

We are looking for a current CSU student, available Summer and Fall 2015.

Other qualifications include:

· Willingness and ability to work with a team
· Strong work ethic and commitment to detail

· Proficiency in Microsoft Windows
· Passion for social media marketing
· Copy editing ability
· Creativity
· Sense of humor

Students will be brought on in an unpaid internship capacity for the Summer, with the option of being hired on for paid work in the Fall semester. This internship is also available for class credit. We plan to hire by mid-July; as such, the Summer will be considered a training period, with the bulk of the work beginning in the Fall.
